Collapsible Bucket
When you need to carry water, instead of using a heavy bucket, why not try using a collapsible bucket instead? It does exactly the same thing as a traditional bucket, but it is much lighter, and when you are not using it, it can be folded up and put away. It is a good idea to have one of these buckets when you are on camping trips. You can keep one in your vehicle, and it isn’t going to take up any room that you need for things such as food, tents, sleeping bags and all of the other gear you are going to need to pack for your camping trip.
There are many different uses for buckets at campsites, and it is important that you have at least one with you when you are camping. Here are three great uses for a collapsible bucket when you are camping:
• Washing Dishes – No matter how many paper plates and other disposable items you bring along for your camping trip, you are always going to have some things that are not disposable, and need to be washed. You can use one of these buckets to do dishes, and place it on a picnic table, which is going to make the job easier than washing them in the lake or river, where you will have to stoop over.
• Bathing – You can take a sponge bath with the water in your bucket, and you can even use water that has been heated over the fire so you don’t have to wash with freezing cold water. You can use the water to rinse off, or even use it to wash your hair, and rinse your hair after shampooing. When you are finished, you simply dump out the water, and refill the bucket for the next person to use.
• Campfire Water – You need to have water nearby when you have a campfire, just in case the fire gets away from you, and to douse out the fire when you are ready to go to sleep (you should never leave burning embers, and having a bucket of water handy will ensure that this will not happen). You can fill the folding bucket with water, and keep it beside you so it is close by when you need it.
The next time you are preparing a list of camping supplies, make sure that your list includes at least one bucket. Since you are going to have a lot of gear that will take up much space in your vehicle, you should have buckets that are not going to take up too much room. The best way to do this is to get a collapsible bucket, or a few, that you can fold up and easily pack in with your other camping gear.
